- If you make an account, we keep your email, name, credit balance, purchases and any Workspace projects you save.
- No ads. No advertising or analytics trackers. We never sell your data.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

1. Who we are
Atlas Browser is made by Aether Technologies, Zambia ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here, under the Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021 of Zambia. You can reach us at brainboxaiapp@gmail.com.
2. What stays on your device
These are kept only on your phone or computer. We never receive them:
- Browsing history (you can turn it off), bookmarks, open tabs, downloads, settings, zoom and site permissions.
- My revision: the quizzes and papers you practised, your marks and saved answers.
- The ad blocker lists, data saver counter and scam shield settings.
- On Windows: passwords you import from another browser (encrypted by Windows) and local error logs.
Uninstalling Atlas or clearing its data deletes these.
3. What we collect and why

| Workspace projects: documents, notes, sources and research steps | When you use the Workspace | To save your work in the cloud and run long research jobs while your device is offline | Yes, until you delete the project or your account |
| AI usage records: which feature, how many questions, credits and cost | Each AI request | Billing, refunds when a request fails, fair-use limits and cost control | Yes, 12 months |

We use your data only for the purposes above, which are needed to give you the service you asked for (Data Protection Act 2021, lawful processing for a contract and with your consent). We do not use it for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell or rent it. Our AI provider does not use your requests to train its models.
Card details are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see them.
4. Who processes your data
We use these service providers. They process data only on our instructions, to run Atlas:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase and Google Cloud | Sign-in, our server, the database for accounts, credits and Workspace, and this website | Belgium (europe-west1) and Google's global network |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Making AI answers, explanations, summaries and replies, including web search when you agree to it | United States |
| Google Play | Payments and app updates in the Android app | |
| pawaPay | Mobile money payments (Airtel, MTN, Zamtel) in Zambia | Its own servers |
| Public job websites | Only your search words, when you run a job search | Their own servers |
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example to a court or the Data Protection Commissioner.
5. Data stored outside Zambia
Our servers are in Belgium (European Union) and our AI provider is in the United States. So your data is transferred outside Zambia. We do this only with providers that keep strong safeguards (encryption, access controls and contracts that limit use of your data), as the Data Protection Act 2021 requires for cross-border transfers. By creating an account and using AI features you agree to this transfer. If you do not agree, you can keep using Atlas without an account and without AI features.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and profile: while your account is open. Deleted within 30 days after you delete the account.
- Workspace projects: until you delete them or your account.
- AI usage records and "wrong block" reports: 12 months.
- Purchase and credit records: as long as accounting and tax law requires. After your account is deleted, we keep only what the law requires, without your Workspace or profile.
- Page text, questions, chat, CVs, snips and PDF pages: not kept after the answer.
- Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (which can include your IP address) for security and fault-finding, for up to 30 days.
7. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database access is limited to your own account by security rules, and only authorised staff can reach admin tools. On Windows your sign-in is encrypted by Windows. No system is perfectly safe: if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Commissioner as the law requires.
8. Young people
Atlas is made for secondary school pupils from 13 years old, students and adults. It is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Browsing works without an account. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you create an account or buy credits; the Data Protection Act 2021 asks for their consent. If you think a child under 13 has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2021 you have the right to:
- know what data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have wrong data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time;
- get your data in a common format to take elsewhere;
- complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Zambia.
Write to brainboxaiapp@gmail.com from the email on your account. We reply within 30 days.
10. Delete your account or data
To delete your Atlas account and its data
- In the Atlas app, open your profile and choose Delete my account, if your version has it. Or:
- Send an email to brainboxaiapp@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Atlas account", from the email address you sign in with.
- We confirm by email and delete your account, profile, Workspace projects and usage records within 30 days.
What is deleted: email, name, photo link, account ID, Workspace projects, AI usage records and reports.
What is kept: purchase and credit records that accounting and tax law makes us keep, linked to no other data. Unused credits are lost when the account is deleted.
Delete some data only: you can delete Workspace projects in the app at any time, or email us to delete other data and keep your account.
Data on your device (history, bookmarks, My revision) is deleted when you clear it in Atlas or uninstall the app.
11. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is important. Questions or complaints: brainboxaiapp@gmail.com, Aether Technologies, Zambia.
